Summary
Anastasios Charonis is an Ophthalmic Surgeon and Chairman of the Board of Athens Vision. He studied medicine at the University of Freiburg in Germany, where he graduated with honors and was awarded a PhD from the Freiburg Medical School. He specialized in Ophthalmology in the U.S. (New York University and the University of Louisville) and completed his residency in General Ophthalmology in 1998, after which he pursued a subspecialty in corneal and refractive surgery at Louisiana State University. In July 2000, he assumed the role of Scientific Director in his field at the Orasis Eye Center, and in June 2006, he co-founded Athens Vision. Since 2013, he has served as the Scientific Director of Athens Vision. He holds dual international certification (American & European Board of Ophthalmology) and his clinical practice focuses on Corneal Surgery/Transplants, Refractive Surgery, Cataracts, and Pediatric Ophthalmology–Strabismus.
