Gr. P. Georgariou Scholarship

In memory of the Center’s co-founder, the distinguished scientist and humanist Grigoris P. Georgariou, and his passion for education, we have established a clinical fellowship (Clinical Fellowship) with the aim of supporting the education and professional development of young ophthalmologists.

The fellowship was established in 2013, lasts nine (9) months, and focuses on the fields of General Ophthalmology and four (4) subspecialties (Corneal & Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Retina, Oculoplastic & Orbital Surgery).

Opportunities are provided to perform surgical procedures under supervision, to receive medical equipment upon completion of the fellowship, and to have expenses covered for obtaining an EBO diploma or attending a European Ophthalmology Congress.

The evaluation and selection of candidates for the scholarship is based on the recommendation of the Scientific Evaluation Committee, which consists of distinguished Ophthalmic Surgeons from the Greek Ophthalmological Community and is ratified by the Board of Directors of Athens Vision.
